IHPC’s mission is to enhance Singapore's global competitiveness through innovative research and human capital development in leading-edge computational science and engineering for modelling, simulation and visualisation. The Institute develops and promotes the application of high performance computing (HPC) technologies and undertakes upstream, industry-inspired research.
With a dedicated pool of experienced research scientists and engineers, IHPC is well-placed to promote the use of advanced computational techniques and HPC resources across a broad range of disciplines such as manufacturing, electronics, chemical applications, precision engineering, virtual reality and advanced product design.
IHPC recognises human resources as its greatest asset that is instrumental to the success of the Institute. At IHPC, we are committed towards the human capital training and development. Postgraduate students trained at IHPC provide a steady supply of computational expertise that help meet, in part, Singapore’s human capital demand for knowledge workers in new emerging technologies. IHPC research scientists and engineers who later find employment in the industry also become an asset for local enterprises.
